The pants in this review were purchased from us here at the Madison store and they were taken out riding on the street and used for a track day at the Nashville Superspeedway.

If you’re not familiar with the Bilt Trackstar leather pants, they are sport/track style leather pant with CE approved armor in the knees and they come with knee sliders. Hello all, and welcome to the occasional update.  I have always thought that improvement is good and in that spirit we will have a lot more going on at Bike Nite July 21.  6 to 9 pm will be the times and there is a lot of activity thrown into those three hours.

1. Bike Show- bring your bike down and enter the show, no cost and the judges will be your peers.  Cruiser, Sport/Sport Touring would be the things you expect.  We are also including a category for Off Road/4 wheel/UTV vehicles; load your off road bike in the truck or trailer and bring it down, don’t be shy the parking lot is huge.  Dual sport people will enter whatever category they think is best for their ride.  $25 CG gift card to each winner and we will have 2nd and third prizes as well.  Be creative, remember it is not always the cleanest, trickest machine that wins?

2. Brewsters is a new restaurant just a stones throw away from the store and they will provide food and have some coupons etc.  This a very cool place to eat and possibly indulge in one of their craft brewed beers.  If local brews are not your thing they have a total of 14 taps and lots of other beverages, yes some even of the adult variety.

3. Would not be a Bike Nite without some music soooo, the nice folks at Sam Ash will provide live music, have a cool give away as yet to be determined and more than likely some coupons to help you musicians save some $$$.

4. Dunlop tire give away again!  Just put in an entry and receive a free set of Dunlop tires.  Sport, off road or cruiser whatever works for you.  That is reason alone to cruise by the store.  Go Pro cameras are also providing support for Bike Nite and we will have coupons for camera discounts.  Who knows, may even have the cameras in stock this time for your purchasing pleasure.

5. One of the local dealers may stop in as well.  They have corp. business to attend to in town but may bring a bike or two, we will see.

6. General type give aways.  Lots of t shirts a video or two etc…

So, a couple of weeks ago I was talking to Brandon and he seemed a little nervous (just a little) about going to Barber for the AMA race.  He and Johnny were SURPRISED that they actually received press passes.  After reading the coverage and seeing the pictures you should read every word and view every picture.  They both did a tremendous job!
Special thanks to everyone that made it to the 1st of 3 Bike Nite’s this year at Cycle Gear Madison.  Dates on the next events coming, but we should get better every time.  Pictures of the event when I figure out how to upload and post.  Thanks to Brandon for holding my hand while I figure this out.

Lastly today, I will have the canopy up Saturday and Sunday (helps keep a couple of bikes cool) and some cool water.  If you are in the neighborhood drop by and say hi.

Greetings all and welcome to what appears to be the beginning of riding season for those that choose not to ride during the colder parts of the year.  The store is getting busy with, tires, batteries and oil flying or sliding out the door, depending on your point of view.  We have two new street product lines that should be in store no later than mid-March details soon to follow.  We are very excited about this exclusive product and think you will be a well.  Bilt helmetshave already arrived and are proving to be popular from the start.  Stop in and try them on; these helmets are designed for the rider that may be on a tight budget or looking for a quality helmet at an excellent price.

MX vs. ATV on the X Box 360 will be happening this Tuesday Feb. 22nd from 6 to 8 pm.  In case you missed the first round the nice folks at Game Stop come to the store on Tuesday nights and organize a great contest for anyone interested in video games.  Prizes each week, and we qualify 3 people for finals on March 8.  Next week another round of MotoGP 09/10.

Movie night was an “intimate” gathering last week as the cold and snow kept a lot of folks away.  We did have several people ride and it was a small challenge to back the bikes on some ice that had formed during the movie.  Mad Max was shown and most of us were surprised at 1. How many motorcycles were actually in the movie and 2. How long it has been since the movie was released (1979 as I recall).
